Bonjour, it’s Théo !
The Sun is back in Paris ! It’s the time of the year when Parisians sit at the table of a café for hours with their friends, enjoying a cup of espresso or a glass of wine while talking about how they can remake the world.
It’s an important tradition in France : we love to take our time to eat, to enjoy a drink, surrounded by our friends. The café is the most important social place in Paris, where people can work, brainstorm ideas or have fun together.
You can find cafés everywhere in Paris. Some are the fancy instagrammable coffeeshop with trendy latte arts, some others are the typical Parisian bistrot that serves baguette with butter to go with your morning espresso.
The cafés are unmissable in Paris, but there are just so many different places to try that it can be difficult to plan your trip with ease.
So here are 3 cafés you need to try if you come to Paris :
Carette
25 Pl. des Vosges, 75003 Paris
Carette has multiple locations in Paris, especially one at Trocadéro, in front of the Eiffel Tower. But if I had to recommend a specific Carette café, it would be this one near the Place des Vosges.
It surrounds this beautiful park where you can have a picnic during a sunny afternoon, and it’s more quiet than Trocadéro. This café is located in the Marais, the trendy almost-pedestrian district of Paris.
They serve all the famous French pastries as macarons or Saint-Honoré, in a typical Parisian decor.
Le Floor
42 Rue Notre Dame des Victoires, 75002 Paris
This trendy café is located in my favorite area of Paris, near Bourse and Sentier, in the 2nd arrondissement. It’s more a business district but you can find plenty of delicious cafés and restaurants everywhere in this area.
Le Floor is also a perfect café to work. People love to come here alone to enjoy a latte while working on remote. It’s peaceful and beautifully decorated, and the staff is adorable.
It’s less “Parisian”, more trendy and cosmopolitan, but this is definitely one of my favorite cafés in Paris.
Petit Palais
Av. Winston Churchill, 75008 Paris
The Petit Palais is a fine art museum just along the Champs-Élysées. Nothing looks like a café, right ? But if you enter and get to the garden inside, you will be amazed 😍
The entrance is free and you will find a small café inside where you can enjoy your drink in one of the most beautiful decors you can find in Paris.
It feels like you’re travelling in the past. You drink your café and feel disconnected from the real world, surrounded by a royal architecture and some wild plants and exotic trees.
The menu is definitely not the best, you don’t have a big choice of drinks, but the decor worth it. You can’t imagine there is a café inside this magnificent museum, but this is an unmissable !
